All things fall...........

I've been in the fall spirit this week. So I've attempted a few Fall treats.
I love pumpkin seeds so I tried to roast them on my own. They sure were pretty, but lacked in the taste department. I now know that the secret is to boil them in salt water for 2 hours and let them dry out overnight before putting them into the mixture and the oven. Next year I'll try again.
I love anything pumpkin. Last week I was in a bakery and they had pumpkin rolls. I couldn't imagine how you would roll a cake up. Mine turned out pretty well. It tasted awesome too.
The last thing I did today was my popcorn balls. I remember getting these as a kid and they were hard as rocks. The recipe called for marshmallows so they are the perfect consistancy. I used a 3 bags of popcorn. Two were kettle corn and the other was butter. I find that this was a perfect sweet/salty mixture.

Alright, trick or treaters come and get it!!

Little Rooster

Little Kitty wants to say a Happy Halloween to all of his feline friends. He also wanted me to say, that his mother made him do this.

The best gift for a husband

I can't stress enough how much Ryan loves the beanbag I got him for our anniversary. He is in it every night and I have to force him out of it to come to bed. The only thing I don't like about it is that it weighs about 70lbs and it is huge! So it's the first thing you see when you enter our den. But he's happy so I guess that's all that matters. If anyone else's husbands are asking for an oversized two man bean bag leave me a comment and I'll let you know where I ordered it from!

Martha Stewart Sunday

Ryan left this weekend to golf in Mississippi. So I came home on Friday from my business trip to an empty house! Actually it was nice. Katie and I had a wonderful dinner on Saturday and a wonderful laugh seeing W. Sunday I woke feeling creative.
I made this fabulous cake
Ryan and I have had a piece every single night after dinner unfortunately. Someone please take this cake from my fridge or we'll eat all of it!

I then made rice heating pads. Unlike electric heating pads that burn houses down, these easily go into the microwave for 2 minutes and stay warm for about 2 hours. The best part was that I put tons of my dried lavender in them. So when you heat them they smell so wonderful!! I made the baseball one for Ryan so he wouldn't feel like a sissy with one of the pretty ones.

My third project was this. I ran to Bandy's pumpkin patch and loaded Ryan's work truck with corn stalks, hay, and pumpkins. I then constructed this Fantastic Farley Fallscape. I'm pretty proud because these corn stalks weighed about 40lbs (well it seemed like 40lbs) and I lifted then in and out of the suv.

Happy Birthday Angie and Happy Anniversary to Us

Last Saturday night Ryan's family met at Mary's to celebrate Ryan's mother birthday. If you have never had the chance to dine at Mary's you should. It's wonderful atmosphere and the food is equally amazing.

Escargots
( I wasn't brave enough to try.)

Ryan's plate, Surf and Turf. The cantalope

(always severed with every dish) from Mary's is the best I have ever tasted in my life!

So Long So Ill Hello Windy City

I'm sitting in the St. Louis airport getting ready to board my flight to Chicago. During my company's "reorganization" many of us were given new medications to carry. I, being the lucky one, got two. Most got one some got none! Each medication required 2.5 days of training so I get to stay for the whole dang week. Lots of disease state knowledge and role play certifications. It's a nerve racking week but hey, I can do anything for 5 days. Hope all is well with all ya'll. I'll post again soon. Thank for all the well wishes!

Our Two Year Anniversary

Today is our Wedding Anniversary. Ryan woke me up on Sunday morning with a "Anniversary Eve", as he called it, breakfast. Tonight we had dinner out. It's amazing it's only been 2 years. It feels like 50! He got a 6 ft memory foam filled adult bean bag. (Ugh... I can't wait to see what that looks like in our den. He claims he needs it for football watching. My gift is Fright Fest at Six Flags on the 25th. I love Six Flags, Ryan would rather have a root canal. So needless to say, I was touched.

Blueberry waffles & bacon. Ryan said, "And I bought you these Fall things to uh look at". He was talking about the gourds.

Tonight 2 yrs later

A little football watching

Two years ago today.................

This is one of my favorites. We took pictures prior since our ceremony was so late in the evening. This is while I was walking down the stairs.

Painting Continued........

Another night of painting our "Barn Scape". I'm not such a fan of mine this week. I started painting on my barn and moutains. I think my painting looks more like a delapitated meth house than a beautiful "barn scape". My mother on the other hand is a fabulous painter. Who knew?
Sami and her masterpiece

My mother and her painting! Her shading is amazing. I can't wait to see it next week.

Me and my meth barn scape. I actually resemble a meth addict in this picture. How fitting!

Alright, this is what this picture is SUPPOSED to look like. This classmate is a watercolor professional!
