Happy Earth Day!!!!

For Earth Day I made these cupcakes for my office. Chocolate for the earth and green buttercream for green grass I guess? This is the first time I have tried making buttercream. I am so sorry I did. It is the best recipe I have ever tasted for this frosting. Attached to all of the cupcakes are Earth Day facts. This one is my favorite!

I can't believe I didn't post these yet. Here is Katie and I on the Zipline. It was one of our "excursions" on the cruise. I think they are pretty fun. The crew that worked here took pictures and then we had the chance to "purchase" them.

Katie was a natural since this was her second ziplining experience.

I have realized that I have my mouth open in several photos. Probably because I can't even shut up to take a picture. Ryan will say an Amen to that!

Did Hell Freeze Over?

Yep this is me. Uh, don't look too closely, just take my

word for it!

I've been running. Yes. Like running shoes, outside on the road, sweaty, sports bra running. If you know me, you know I can't even walk a mile unless someone was dangling cake in front of me. Last week I got the urge to run strangely. This time it actually worked. I have ran a mile, yes my fitness freak friends don't laugh ( I have to start small), every night for a week. My goal is to run 2 miles by next month. Sadly, running a mile only burns about 130 calories. Because let me tell you, when I am running that mile, it feels like it should be burning at least 1500. You know what I don't get, when people say that working out makes them have more energy. Nope not me. I could run 6 miles and then jump in bed and take a nap. I am dying for some red wine right now. But my sorry legs are too tired to drive and get some. Why aren't there alcohol delivery services?

Like I said, I was a little unsure about trading our SUV in for a little hybrid. Now, I'm quite sure we made the right choice!!

The Easter Bunny Came!!

This is what was waiting for me when I walked in to the den this morning. I was a little confused. All of these items, with the exception of two, were from my pantry. The pink hat was a gift Ry gave to me this week when he went to the Masters. The Coach umbrella I take it was my Easter present. I asked him what was the reason for all the other misc. items. He told me they were for garnish, just to make it look prettier. He just might have a job dressing windows, I tell you. Oh and the pink ribbon is surveying tape he uses on job sites. I'll give him an A for effort. The Easter Bunny also left me this sweet little Lemon Button fern. This bell jar was an early Easter gift from Angie, Ry's mom. I love that I have a real use for it now. The shell beside it has a little suculant and a seedum planted in it. I have been trying to find a good shell and was even on Ebay last night looking for one to do this craft. This morning I was shocked to see that the Easter Bunny left one for me at Dave and Angies!! Here is the annual holiday photo opt.

My how a year can fly by............

April 8th 2008 Madalyn Grace was born. Today we celebrated her 1st birthday.

Then....

Now.....Her and Court sat in her little PB chair and opened gifts.

Note the bow. This is an accessory that she is never without. The tutu was super cute too. I just love this picture. My mom was holding her and my dad walked up behind her. She's destined to be in public relations or sales.


There were very few children at the party. Cade was lucky to have one of her new presents all to himself!! Yes Ryan (Cade's Daddy), it's pink. But I would like to think it's just to attract the ladies....
It's amazing that this little boy is 2 1/2 already. He is such a well behaved 2 1/2 year old I have to add. But I'm sure that his parents would say otherwise. It was so nice to spend today with both of these babies mommies. I love you girls!!!!

A doll for Madalyn Grace.....

I took another stab at the Black Apple Doll. This time I created my own hair do. I love her ponytails, although you can't quite see them in this picture. I finished her this morning and wrapped her up in a box to deliver her to Madalyn's birthday party today. I was sad to see her go because she is the best one I have made so far. But what the heck am I going to do with her? Give her a good home Maddy and give her lots of kisses and hugs. XOXOXO

Martha's Mother...........

I visited my parents house this evening to drop something off. My mother had these little goodie boxes waiting by the door for everyone tomorrow. I snuck off with mine early. She baked and even tucked them away in Martha's own confection favor boxes. She's giving me a run for my money!

Same pan different night..........

So I tried the bundt cake thing again. I'm sorry I did. Because this is the best cake I have ever made in my life! I'm trying to decide whether to eat another piece. I had planned to take this to work but now I realize they never knew there was a cake coming in the first place. If I keep it here it will be gone by sundown.

Even Martha would be proud.......

Last night was my usual night to bake something. I have never made a bundt cake and I had just found a good recipe for one. I can't believe how perfect the cake came out. Nothing was left in my pan, it was a perfect release! Although the recipe wasn't as spectacular taste wise, the presentation was pretty impecable!

Ryan at the Masters......

If you know us, you'll know that I am what they call a golf widow. Truly, I don't mind. It's such a healthy hobby and I love that he loves something so much. I, on the other hand, am still looking for something that I love so much it would make me get up at 6 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Ry was able to go to the Masters this week and take some pictures on their practice day. He was in Heaven. Since I'm the one posting, out of the 3,000 pictures he took, I'll post my favorite golfer. My boyfriend, Nick Watney. Enjoy!

Laughing until it hurts.........

Courtney, Beth, and I went to Houlihans for dinner last Monday. With Beth and Court having children, it's harder and harder to find a little girl time. We laughed until we thought they were going to ask us to leave. Those are the best times. Thanks girls for a great night!

Cha..Cha. Cha.. Changes.......

The last 2 weeks of my life have been absolutely fabulous. You know why? Because I made a huge change. I quit my job as a pharmaceutical rep and took on a job with a incredible non-for-profit organization as their marketing coordinator. This change is something that I have been praying about for the last year. I have had a couple of job offers but the pay cut was so severe we didn't know if we could swing it. Out of nowhere this one came available and all of the benefits are more than what I had hoped for. I am reminded once again, that everything will work out in the end! I know I had some skeptics who thought I was crazy for leaving my previous job. I can't even describe how different my life is. I am HAPPY all the time!! I'm not worried, stressed, or physically ill anymore! The best part about my new job is that in our new Administration building we have a brother and sister living with us. Their names are Shadow and Salem. Yes, they are cats. While interviewing for this position, I noticed cat toys laying around the building. As soon as I was told they had cats I was sold. Also, having to say goodbye to my free company car for the past 3 years we had to buy a new one! We traded in our SUV and went green with a Hybrid. I didn't know how I would like it at first but after 2 weeks of driving it and not having to gas up yet, I love it!!!! So that's whats going on around here. Lots of changes but all for the good. I'm sooo happy and I am looking forward to starting this new aspect of my career.

I'm at it again!!!

I saw these "Black Apple" Dolls (originally from Etsy) online last night on one of my favorite craft blogs and I figured that they couldn't be that hard. Painting the face was my least favorite. You have all seen my painting talents from last fall's painting class. My most favorite was sewing her bow on and naming her. Everyone that does these comments on how much fun it is to name them because after you've spent 8 hours making them (8 hours for me, 2 hours for everyone else) they do take on a life of their own. So everyone meet Isabelle. Isabelle, my blog family. This as always is just my test dummy. I hope to make several more with different hairstyles, clothes, and fancy accessories. I am finally wraping up my craft weekend. It was fun and relaxing. But boy do I have a mess to clean up!

Big SITC News!!!

The man behind "Big," Chris Noth, wouldn't reveal any baby plans, but teased about the film sequel, "[Producers] are probably thinking about that, but I don't know."
Potential on-screen mother, Sarah Jessica Parker, was tight-lipped on Carrie Bradshaw's uterus as well, saying. "In a million years I'm not going to give you an indication. I want someone to show up that first weekend."

I'm So There!! Who's coming with me?

I just found this on Mo Willems's website. They are having a Pigeon Party! I love love love this author for so many reasons. Girl's you'll have to loan me your kids for the day. I'm not going by myself, people will think I'm there to steal kids or something werido like that. Then again, perhaps it is a little strange that a 28 yr old woman (with no kids) loves this Pigeon as much as I do.

It will tour USA and Canada during 2009 and 2010.

A Crafty Weekend........

The creative bug bit me this weekend. It started off Thursday night baking Chocolate chocolate chip cookies. I intended on sending them all with Ryan Friday morning for his office. The cookies instead were sent to my thighs and stomach. I need to forget how to bake. I then started making some new baby gifts for a couple of friends of mine. I made two sets of burp cloths, in my most favorite fabric and a onsie to complete each set. I then made a couple of onsies with some cute animal appliques. I finished off the weekend with a new necklace and bracelet with some great springy green beads. I plan to rest tomorrow. Yeah right! Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!!!

As you know I have given up soda totally. I have ditched Diet Coke forever but now this evil creature has moved into my life in the past month. This showed up on my counter today and begged for me to drink it. I won't tell you how many of his buddies also showed up today. I'm ashamed. AHHHH..... I have to get back onto the straight and narrow tomorrow.
